ABOUT UFC
UFC stands for Ultimate Faith in Christ. UFC is the home of the Jr. High, Sr. High, and college students of Lanes Chapel United Methodist Church in Tyler, Texas. The definition of "Ultimate" is - maximum, conclusive, final, not to be improved upon or surpassed, greatest. To have ultimate faith in Christ, you have to work at it. And all it takes is all you've got! Just like an athlete trains his body to strengthen it, we train ourselves to strengthen our faith. We meet for Training on Wednesday and Sunday evenings. Come check it out!
"Do you not know that in a race all the runners run, but only one gets the prize? Run in such a way as to get the prize. Everyone who competes in the games goes into strict training. They do it to get a crown that will not last; but we do it to get a crown that will last forever. Therefore I do not run like a man running aimlessly; I do not fight like a man beating the air. No, I beat my body and make it my slave so that after I have preached to others, I myself will not be disqualified for the prize." 1 Cor 9:24-27 NIV
We believe that you must be "born again" to receive salvation (eternal life in Heaven), and that that is done by asking Jesus to be the Lord of your life, by believing that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and that he came to earth, lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and was resurrected and is alive today. And by confessing, repenting and turning from your sins.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." John 3:16 NIV
Our goal is to have the kind of faith that lets us reach out to others that may not know Christ as their savior, to have the courage to share our faith with the world, and to set an example with the way we live our lives, as described in 1 Timothy 4:12.
"Don't let anyone look down on you because you are young, but set an example for the believers in speech, in life, in love, in faith and in purity." 1 Tim 4:12 NIV
We Don't Careabout your past, we only care about your future. Join us on Wednesday nights 6:30–8:00pm and on Sunday nights 6:00-8:00pm at Lanes Chapel UMC. If you are interested in Training with us, have questions about having a personal relationship with Jesus or if you want to learn more about sharing your faith with your friends, as described in 1 Peter 3:15, then join us!
"Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have." 1 Peter 3:15 NIV
